Michael Tiernan

A favoured thing in my life is "Daddy Adventure Day" with my son Valen, we go clam digging, back country skiing, have art gallery visits, swim at the pool or just play guitar together. I keep an illustrated diary of our adventures. In my professional life, I feel as if I do too many things, but they all seem to have a momentum of their own, so I try to roll with the ride and enjoy all the moments along the way. Graphic design and product branding, painting big landscapes in oils, running an aquaculture harvesting corporation, an organic cosmetic corporation and still buying highlighters at Staples. I continue to plant tomatoes in a little garden outside our house because I believe in a sustainable lifestyle in the midst of the urban sprawl. I'm lucky to have a cabin in the woods that I retreat to, a Ford F-250 pickup with an 81 Frontier camper and a boat that makes me feel like a Viking. I'm even luckier to have the long time friendship and love of my pals and Lyric founders Michèle and Nick. Recently I've taught drawing and painting at a youth prison and would encourage others to volunteer their talents and time to others who need. I try to do the things that scare me most. I love my family and friends dearly and the natural earth still feels like a wonder to me.
