Lyric endeavors to expand and explore the nature of the creative process and to encourage actors with other artistic talents to explore in the same safe environment that we have been cultivating since 2001. To that end, we are thrilled to include evenings throughout the year of stand-up comedy where we include Lyric actors and alumni actors who have explored the stand-up experience for the first time at Lyric, during Tornados or who want to explore it using this experience. We also invite professional comics from Vancouver's comedy community to join us in a rockin' night of lime and laughter. This Lyric off-shoot was conceived by Michèle Lonsdale Smith and managed by TJ Riley and Alberta Mayne; both of whom have studied extensively in Lyric's acting program.

Comics who have appeared at Lyric's One Night Stand include: Erica Sigundson, Jane Stanton, Jy Harris, Jenn Griffin, Dylan Rhymer, and JP Mass. We expect re-appearances from these comics in future One Night Stands.
